Position Purpose

The Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic, operational, and financial planning activities within EG LNG. The role includes performing analysis on production, operational, and financial data; developing forecasts; supporting the budgeting process; and contributing to long‑term planning efforts that align with the company’s business objectives. The Planning Analyst also prepares reports for senior management, provides analytical support to various departments, and helps ensure that operational and financial plans reflect prudent and efficient use of company resources in line with EG LNG’s contractual and corporate obligations.

Job Functions

Strategic and Operational Planning:

  • Assist in the development and execution of short‑ and long‑term operational, financial, and project plans.
  • Contribute to the formulation of company‑wide and department‑specific strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Support the planning of CAPEX and OPEX by providing accurate projections, analysis, and planning inputs.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to production, maintenance, operations, financial performance, and market conditions.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to evaluate business performance and identify trends.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and visual dashboards for internal stakeholders and senior management.

Financial Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Support the development of annual and multi‑year financial forecasts, including revenues, expenses, and production volumes.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for optimization of budgets and allocation of resources.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets, identify variances, and prepare variance explanations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and Supply Chain to coordinate planning activities.
  • Provide ongoing communication to senior management on planning initiatives, key performance indicators (KPI’s), and business risks.

Additional duties will be assigned from time to time by the line manager or supervisor as required to meet business needs including personal training and development opportunities.

Education and Experience

Essential:

  • EG National with a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, Economics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in planning, business analysis, or operational support within the Oil & Gas or industrial processing sector.
  • LNG Operations & Process Understanding
    • Basic understanding of LNG facility operations, including gas treatment, liquefaction, and utility systems
    • Familiarity with the operating principles of compressors, turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment
    • Ability to interpret operational parameters and understand constraints that affect production efficiency and availability
  • Engineering Cost Estimation & Project Evaluation
    • Ability to review engineering scopes, cost estimates, bills of materials, and contractor proposals
    • Understanding of AACE cost estimate classifications and project development phases (FEL 1–3).
    • Ability to assess the reasonableness of project costs, schedules, and associated risk factors in alignment with prudent operator expectations.
  • Engineering Documentation & Standards

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including P&IDs, PFDs, mechanical data sheets, and other technical documents

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
  • ERP: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
  • Fluency in English is required; additional proficiency in other languages is a plus.

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions

  • Most work is performed in an air-conditioned office environment.
  • Work consists of unconstrained office work, seated, air-conditioned building.

Equipment Operated

  • Standard office equipment and personal computer.
