Job Title: Plant Operator III

Position Purpose
The Plant Operator III is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of any of the three process areas in which certification has been attained. This includes ensuring compliance during assigned shifts with EG LNG’s Operating Procedures, Process Safety Management Program, and Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) Policies.
Job Functions
- The employee is expected to perform the duties outlined in this Job Description and any related responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor/Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
- Monitor and control process parameters within established operating envelopes in accordance with approved procedures to ensure safe, reliable and compliant LNG production.
- Conduct routine field inspections and maintain detailed accurate reading sheets, daily handover logs and all required reports.
- Execute plant start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures in the field under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and/or the Panel Operator.
- Detect and troubleshoot process deviations and process upsets and initiate appropriate response actions to restore normal operations in coordination with the Shift Supervisor and/or the Panel Operator.
- Assist in root cause analysis for process upsets and equipment failures.
- Collect water, gas, hydrocarbons, or chemical samples for lab analysis and interpret the results.
- Administer and monitor all work authorizations in strict accordance with the Safe Work Permit procedure, Life Critical procedures, and established Safe Work Practices.
- Participate in the review and development of existing and new operating procedures.
- Report equipment maintenance, availability and reliability issues to the Panel Operator and/or Shift Supervisor in a timely manner for entry into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS – SAP) and document in handover reports.
- Adhere to the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and Management of Change (MOC) procedures and stay current with active plant changes.
- Provide on-the-job training guidance and mentorship to assigned trainees.
- Support the Development Supervisors in the periodic review of current training materials and provide input in the development of new training materials.
- Proactively maintain, reinforce, and extend job skills through refresher training. Maintain area knowledge and recertification requirements.
- Adhere to the Company's Event Reporting Standard, Life Critical Procedures, Safe work practices and assist in resolution of all incident/audit action items.
- Respond appropriately to spills and follow up with the Waste Manifest process and paperwork when required.
- Actively participate and promote the company's safety observation and leadership safety engagement program.
- Complete all on-the-job, HES and computer-based training as required for the position.
- Respond appropriately during plant emergencies by mustering at designated areas, participating in drills, adhering to safety protocols, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Promote a positive attitude and encouragement to support team members.
- Perform additional or other duties as assigned from time to time by the line manager or Supervisor, including personal training and development assignment opportunities.

Education and Experience
Essential:
- EG National with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- National Technological Institute of Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea (ITNHGE) Certificate or National University of Equatorial Guinea (UNGE) degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry with LNG experience preferred.
- Additional Training:
- First aid, CPR, AED, Incipient Firefighting, Emergency Response, Permit-to-Work, Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER), Portable Gas Detector, etc.
Qualities/Attributes
Technical Skills Required:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade® LNG process, as well as the operating principles of cryogenic and refrigeration systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the operating principles of all process related equipment including rotating and fixed equipment, process instrumentation and control logics, valves, etc.
- Broad knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems to effectively monitor and adjust process variables.
- Strong troubleshooting for diagnosing and resolving process and equipment issues.
- Thorough understanding of PSM and safe work practices including Permit to Work, Opening Process Piping & Equipment Preparation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and Management of Change (MOC).
- Comprehensive knowledge of emergency shutdown systems, fire and gas detection, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- Thorough understanding of site‑specific emergency plans, emergency procedures, muster points, and communication chains.
- Sound technical writing ability to assist with SOPs, manuals and technical reports.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
- Ability to lift loads of up to 20 kgs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders with no fear of heights
- Mainly outdoor field environment in varied weather conditions in a hazardous, noisy operating environment.
- Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts, including both day and night rotations.
Equipment Operated
- Rotating and fixed process equipment such as pumps, compressors, heaters, vessels, tanks, etc.
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)/ Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Fire and Gas Systems Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and any equipment trained to use.
- Standard office equipment and personal computer.
