Position Purpose
The Senior Contracts Specialist is responsible for identifying and evaluating vendors, supporting contract negotiations, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements while monitoring contract costs, budgets, and performance.
Job Functions
Senior Contract Specialist:
- Market Screening: Identify and evaluate potential vendors that align with the company's needs and standards.
- Vendor Research: Conduct thorough research on vendor capabilities, financial stability, and market reputation.
- Negotiation Assistance: Support the Contracts Supervisor in contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Commercial Analysis: Perform detailed commercial analysis to assess the financial impact of contracts.
- Prepare tender documents, administer the bidding process including transparent bid opening, screening and selection.
- Contract Management: Oversee the execution, amendments, and renewals of contracts, ensuring all terms are met.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure vendors comply with service level agreements (SLAs) and other contractual obligations.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on contract performance, including costs, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor contracts and relationships.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documents, including amendments and renewals.
- Vendor Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving any disputes or issues that arise with vendors during the contract period.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to the contract management process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to junior team members on contract management best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all contracts comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on contract status, performance, and compliance for senior management.
- Perform any additional tasks requested by the line manager related to the role.
Education and Experience
Essential:
- EG National with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in contract management, procurement, or a related field.
- Additional training in Contract Management, Negotiation, Commercial Analysis
- Experience in overseeing complex contract negotiations and execution is preferred.
- Contract Law Knowledge: Understand legal principles and regulations governing contracts.
- Commercial Analysis: Conduct detailed commercial analysis to support negotiations.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
- Financial Analysis: Monitor contract costs, budgets, and financial performance.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts.
- Project Management: Manage the contract lifecycle, including execution, amendments, renewals, and performance monitoring.
Qualities / Attributes

- Adaptability: Adjusting to changes in market conditions, vendor capabilities, and company needs.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio (advantage), SAP user skills (preferred)
- Proficiency in Spanish and English is required, French is an advantage
Physical Requirements / Work Conditions
- Most work is performed in an air-conditioned office environment.
Work consists of unconstrained office work, seated, air-conditioned building.
- Occasional domestic travel to meet local vendors
Equipment Operated
- Standard office equipment and personal computer.
- Company pool vehicle for work related activities.
