Instrument Technician II

Position Purpose

The Instrument Technician II is an integral part of the EG LNG maintenance team.
The Instrument Technician II is responsible for basic maintenance and repairs of plant instrument systems and equipment under the supervision of a mentor, supervisor or job site leader. This individual must possess and demonstrate a safety conscience work behavior and attitude and comply with EG LNG’s Process Safety Management Program as well as all EG LNG Health, Environment and Safety Policies.

Job Functions

  • Promotes and supports Health, Safety and Environmental aspects related to instrument maintenance. Understands and applies Company’s Global Performance Systems (GPS), Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA- based HES system.
  • Performs any task, as directed by supervision, for which he/she has been trained and/ or demonstrates skills and abilities to perform.
  • Follows instructions from job site leader to assist in conducting routine tasks such as testing and measuring, maintaining, calibrating, repairing, replacing and installing instrumentation equipment such as, but not limited to, switches, analyzers, gauges, control valves and transmitters which are used throughout the plant for the purpose of measuring, controlling, and indicating temperature, pressure and vacuum, fluid flow, liquid level, mechanical motion, rotation, humidity, density, acidity or alkalinity, and combustion.
  • Assists with the completion of routine paperwork, forms and reports regarding the instrument equipment condition and repairs.
  • Assists in the set up and maintenance of computers and other electronic devices used to operate the facility in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and fault finding under the direction of supervisor or job site leader.
  • Sends e-mails and completes computer-based training as directed.
  • Reads and comprehends manuals and blueprints regarding circuits and equipment instrumentation and demonstrates understanding of these systems.
  • Understands the Permit to Work System and is compliant with the dictates of the Permit to Work. Complies with all Safety Rules.
  • Participates, as required, in other activities as assigned from time to time by the line manager or supervisor, including personal training and development
    assignment opportunities.

Education and Experience

Essential:

  • EG National with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass required Company certification tests to progress to Instrument
    Technician II.
  • Must have met or exceeded performance expectations in current role for the last 2-3 years to progress to Instrument Technician II

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions

  • Work is performed outside in all weather conditions in a noisy operating
    environment.
  • Work requires walking, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, standing, lifting and working at elevated heights and in confined spaces.

Equipment Operated

  • Operates man lift, scissor lift, overhead cranes and other equipment trained
    and certified to use
