Maintenance Utility Supervisor

Position Purpose

As an integral part of EGLNG maintenance team, the Maintenance Utility Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of the Utility group in ensuring that new construction installed and repairs made to EGLNG equipment are made to the highest possible standards. This individual must possess and demonstrate a safety conscience work behavior and attitude and comply with EG LNG’s Process Safety Management Program as well as all EG LNG Health, Environment and Safety Policies.

Job Functions

  • Promotes and manages company Health, Safety and Environmental programs related to maintenance for both for own staff and all contractors & vendor representatives in accordance with Company’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA-based HES system.
  • Directs scaffold builders and assists scaffold crews in the safe erection and
    dismantling of all types of scaffolds required for the execution of work or access to process equipment.
  • Directs Utility craft in civil work, which includes; excavation, layout, rebar
    fabrication, construction of forms, concrete pouring, concrete finishing and grade work.
  • Directs the Utility craft in the installation and repair of insulation and sheet metal for piping circuits, tanks and vessels.
  • Directs the Utility craft in paint and coatings work throughout the plant and
    facilities.
  • Directs the Utility craft in general labor work such as filter replacements and
    general building maintenance (plumbing).
  • Checks the construction requirements from drawings and written instructions, selects materials and acquires needed quantities.
  • Tracks and maintains inspection records on all EGLNG Ladders and Safety
    harness/lanyards.
  • Performs material take offs to maintain necessary inventories of materials utilized by the Utility group.
  • Assumes the role of job site leader and is responsible for safely executing projects within schedule and budget targets.
  • Ensures all documentation is completed and presented for approval prior to the completion of each project.
  • Prioritizes and allocates manpower to specific tasks and work schedules.
  • Provides continued training, coaching and mentoring to Equatorial Guinean staff based on needs assessments and evaluates effect of training received.
  • Participates, as required, in other activities as assigned from time to time by the line manager or supervisor, including personal training and development
    assignment opportunities.
  • Liaise with contractors in the execution of special projects and procurement of materials such as gravel, sand, blocks…
  • Assists the Department Manager in the preparation of the department’s yearly budget.
  • Assists in annual planning of training budget of their secondees.
  • Regularly reviews, revises, and updates utilities-related maintenance procedures to ensure alignment with current operational practices, safety standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience

Essential:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience in petrochemical, LNG or oil industry.
  • Certification as a Carpenter, Scaffold Builder, or Insulator/Sheet Metal Worker is preferred.

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions

  • Work requires walking, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, and standing,
    lifting and working at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Work is performed outside in all weather conditions in a noisy operating
    environment.

Equipment Operated

  • Operates man lift, scissor lift, overhead cranes, hand tools and other
    equipment trained and certified to use.
