Rotating Equipment Engineer II

Position Purpose

The Rotating Equipment Engineer II is responsible for providing basic engineering support to ensure the integrity and operation of basic plant rotating equipment in compliance with EG LNG’s Process Safety Management Program as well as all EG LNG Health, Safety and Environment Policies.

Job Functions

  • Promotes and supports Health, Safety and Environmental aspects related to Electrical Engineering. Understands and applies Company’s Global Performance Systems (GPS), Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA- based HES system.
  • Adhere EGLNG STOP Authority program at all levels and focuses and embraces the concept of a “zero” incident workplace.
  • Develops a basic understanding of internationally accepted reliability and availability standards in engineering and best practices in design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Firm Understanding of reliability engineering policies, strategies, procedures, standards and systems for sustaining plant integrity and reliability.
  • Firm understanding of machinery applications, operating principles and maintenance procedures of rotating equipment including pumps, gear box, fans, compressors, turbines and generator, auxiliary equipment such seals, bearings, couplings, filters, lubrication, and fuel systems.
  • Assists in monitoring, compiling, and analyzing rotating equipment
    performance data, identify “bad actors” and develop improvement plans to achieve business targets. Assist Maintenance Technician in the installation, commissioning, converting, repairing and general maintenance of machines.
  • Assists in providing basic review and technical assistance needed to authorize plant changes and modifications.
  • Able to perform inspections and routine maintenance on rotating equipment
    and provide technical reports and feedback on equipment condition.
  • Issue detailed report of Maintenance Activities (with Conclusion and first level Recommendation based on findings)
  • Produce Recommendation from highlighted issue in the Periodic Reports
  • Vendor Liaison
  • Provide Support in preparation of the planned outages. Fully Knowledgeable
    in the Planned Outages planning process, be able to advise material and tools required, expected duration, define scope of work.
  • Lead the field service team on equipment outages.
  • Works with mentor as required to obtain guidance, learning and mentorship
    through on the job training.

  • Participates, as required, in other activities as assigned from time to time by
    the line manager or supervisor, including personal training and development
    assignment opportunities.

Education and Experience

Essential:

  • EG National with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 3 – 4 years’ experience in the maintenance of rotating equipment, inspection
    and diagnostics.
  • Fully knowledgable of the MOC process, be able to develop study for
    upgrades.
  • Proficient in First level troubleshooting
  • Proficient in Logic Functional Description.
  • Be able to interpret simple PLC logic.
  • Knowledgeable of the Anti-surge System operating philosophy.
  • Knowledgeable of Rotating Equipment Vibration Analysis basic principle.
  • Knowledge of Condition Monitoring basic principle.
  • Proficient in large Rotating Equipment Alignment.
  • Fully Knowledgeable of Borescope inspection principle and result interpretation.

Qualities / Attributes

  • Familiar with Microsoft support software, planning/scheduling software and SAP PM

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions

  • Most work is performed in an air-conditioned office environment. Some work is performed outside in all weather conditions in a noisy operating environment.
  • Work consists of unconstrained, seated office work and outside supervision of tasks requiring walking, climbing stairs, stooping, and standing.

  • Standard office equipment and personal computer.
